AREQUIPA
At the foot of the Misti volcano at 2500 meters above sea level stands
the city of Arequipa, known as the White City, with its spring
climate, warrior tradition and independent and stubborn
character.
Among
its attractions we must
mention the Convent of Santa
Catalina, La Compañia church, San Agustín and the
beautiful valley beyond the city, famous for its traditional
local restaurants. Further from the city we find the
pre-historic remains of Toro Muerto, as well as the Aguada
Blanca and Pampa Cañahuas vicuña reserves, and of course
Colca, the world’s deepest canyon, where condors can be
observed rising on the morning thermals
