LIMA
KINGS & VIRREYES
CITY
Visit
us and learn about Andean culture; its customs, archaeology and
natural beauty.
Lima,
Peru’s capital, is a city of great contrasts, with more than
eight million inhabitants of all races who represent more than
one third of the total population of the country. Its climate is
moderate and quite humid in winter. Lima is located on Peru’s
central coast, and boasts many beaches.
Colonial
Lima was the centre of Spanish power. Among its main attractions
are the colonial mansions, churches, museums and the fine
restaurants that have made the city a gastronomic capital
CITY
TOUR
: An
exceptional tour to the heart of the city. We will visit the
Plaza de Armas, with its cathedral and Government Palace, before
journeying through the colonial center as far as the residential
areas of San Isidro and Miraflores
ARCHAEOLOGICAL
MUSEUM : An
important collection of ceramics, lític material and metals of
the cultures pre Inca and Inca shows with much professionalism
the Andean cultural process and its evolution to us through
history.
GOLD
MUSEUM
:
Located in the historic colonial center of the city of Lima, the
museum boasts 6000 gold objects; an impressive collection of art
from the pre-Columbian Andean cultures of Peru. The museum also
is called as the Mujica Gallo weapons collection house.
PACHACAMAC
: Situated
30 kilometers south of Lima, the ruins of Pachacamac were once a
ceremonial centre that was occupied for almost 4000 years. This
extraordinary continuity enabled the archaeologist Max Uhle to
establish his stratification of Andean culture from its origins
to the arrival of Europeans in the 16th century.
Palaces, temples, aqueducts and plazas covered for centuries by
the desert reveal our cultural past.
