MACHUPICCHU
We leave Cusco early from
the San Pedro station in a comfortable tourist train for our
visit to the citadel of Machupicchu, known to many as the lost
city of the Incas. The
journey takes approximately four hours.
The city lies in a tropical landscape which is home to
orchids and hundreds of bird species. In the afternoon we return to Cusco by train, emerging from
the highland forest onto the plains below the mountains of the
Andes.
How to Get to Machupicchu:

By train from either Cusco or Ollantaytambo in the Sacred
Valley of the Incas.
