We leave Cusco early from the San Pedro station in a comfortable tourist train for our visit to the citadel of Machupicchu, known to many as the lost city of the Incas. The journey takes approximately four hours. The city lies in a tropical landscape which is home to orchids and hundreds of bird species.

Arriving in Aguas Calientes we board a bus to take us up to the ruins of the ancient citadel, the design of which harmonizes perfectly with the topography. In the afternoon we return to Cusco by train, emerging from the highland forest onto the plains below the mountains of the Andes. Transfer to hotel.
