SOCIAL TOURISM
PARTICIPATORY
The
Andes mountains are home to indigenous communities of modest,
hard working people who conserve their ancient customs. Here we
have developed an alternative to traditional tourism; social
participatory living and ecological tourism.

The
area chosen is the department of Cusco in the province of
Canchis, among the highland communities of Paruro, where people
live in harmony with nature, cultivating potatoes, corn and
grains and grazing their livestock. They also maintain their
ancestral weaving traditions, dying their products with plant
extracts

Social
tourism consists of living with these people and participating
in their daily activities (planting, weaving, cooking, educating
their children and grazing the livestock), as well as staying
overnight in their humble abodes.
Without
a doubt, this new travel option allows the inhabitant of the
modern world to leave for a while the comforts of home and make
contact with Mother Nature, which provides all that the people
of the Andes need
